April 25th-27, 2008: Weekend Spring Seminar with Kashiwaya Koichi Sensei, Chief Instructor of Midland Ki Federation and Head of Ki-Aikido USA. Hosted by the Genkikai Shin Shin To Itsu Aikido Club at the University of Chicago. Seminar details, including cost, lodging, etc. are on our registration and information form. CLASS TIMES:

Friday 6:30-8:30 PM

Saturday and Sunday 10:30 AM-12:30 PM and 2:00-4:00 PM.

Special Class Saturday 5:00-6:30 PM (contact us to participate in this one).

All classes in the Henry Crown Field House Martial Arts Room.

Open to all, including non-University of Chicago public. All levels.

 

Kangeiko Week, January 13th-20th:

Sunday, January 13th 2008:10:30-12:30 AM: Kagami Biraki with kyu testing for Genkikai members, Henry Crown Martial Arts Room.

Dinner Party in the evening. 2:00-4:00 PM: Followed by Special Class with Jonathan Eley Sensei, 6th Dan Aikido, Chief Instructor of Chicago Ki Society . The seminar will be open to all. Please email us for details.

Wednesday, January 16th, 6:00-7:30 AM: Kangeiko Morning Calisthenics and Special Introductory Class for U of C students, Henry Crown Field House.

Sunday, January 20th 2008, 10:30-12:30 AM: Introductory Class and Demonstration open to all U of Chicago, Henry Crown Martial Arts Room.

 

2007

October 1st-3rd , 2007: Kashiwaya Sensei Autumn Seminar at the University of Chicago, hosted by Genkikai. Monday, Tuesday & Wednesday, 6:30-8:30 PM. Open to all, including non-University of Chicago public. Registration and Information Form: Page 1 Page 2.

May 25th-27, 2007: Kashiwaya Sensei Weekend Spring Seminar at the University of Chicago, hosted by Genkikai, with 5 classes: Friday 6:30-8:30 PM, and Saturday & Sunday 10:30 AM-12:30 PM, 2:00-4:00 PM. Open to all, including non-University of Chicago public.

February 14th-18th, 2007: Midland Ki Federation Instructors' Camp, Denver, Colorado. Weekend portion open to general students.

January 14th, 2007: O-Shogatsu Keiko, Kyu Testing and Kagami Biraki Celebration, 10:00 AM-1:00PM in Multipurpose Room, followed by NEW YEAR PARTY at the Club's secret HQ!!!

January 9th, 2007: Ki and Ki-Aikido Workshop/Demo Class at Kangeiko, meet at 6:00 AM, Henry Crown Field House Wrestling Room.

2006

October 25-29, 2006: World Camp Seminar in Tochigi, Japan.

October 13-15, 2006: GENKIKAI Fall Weekend Seminar with KASHIWAYA SENSEI: Kashiwaya Sensei (8th Dan - Shin Shin Toitsu Aikido and Okuden - Ki Development) is the Head of Ki-Aikido USA and is the Chief Instructor of Midland Ki Federation.

October 5th, 2006: SELF-DEFENSE & SAFETY WORKSHOP, 6:30-8:30 PM, Henry Crown Field House Multipurpose Room. Two-hour workshop open to University of Chicago students, faculty, staff and spouses.

First Week of Classes: Classes during the first week of Fall '06 were free open demo classes. Our regular five-class a week schedule picked up 2nd week.

September 29th: University of Chicago Sports Club and RSO Fall Activities Fair... betwen 57th & 58th on University... 3PM-6PM...with demonstrations by Genkikai Ki-Aikido Club.

August 11-13, 2006: Jo/Bokken Camp 2006 with Koichi Kashiwaya Sensei in the Rocky Mountains at Jacks Gulch Campground (up Poudre Canyon, northwest of Fort Collins, CO) Friday to Sunday, August 11 to 13, 2006.
