Fridays November 6th and 13th, 6:30 - 8:00 PM: Self-Defense, Awareness and Safety Class, open to all U of Chicago students, faculty & staff. No previous experience necessary. Taught by Lead Instructor. Please email us for registration and all details.

Monday September 21st - Monday September 28th: Orientation Week Activities of the Genki Kai Dōjō, including Phoenix Phest (Thursday September 24th 10AM-1PM in Ratner), Ki-Aikidō Demonstrations, and a table at the Annual RSO Orientation Fair (Friday October 2nd U of C Main Quad). January 2012: Kangeiko at the University of Chicago! Special 1-hour introductory Ki-Aikidō Class Open to all University of Chicago community, on Wednesday January 11th, 6:30-7:30 AM. The class is free, and is open to all U of C students, faculty and staff.

January 10th: Kangeiko at University of Chicago! Special 1-hour Class Open to all University of Chicago community, 6:30-7:30 AM on Monday morning, Day 1 of week-long Kangeiko Festival.

January 16th: KAGAMI BIRAKI 2011, WITH:

October 1st: GENKIKAI booth and demo at the ORCSA Orientation Fair, Friday, 3:00-5:30 PM University of Chicago Main Quadrangle.

Friday May 21st- Sunday May 23rd: ANNUAL Genkikai SPRING SEMINAR WITH KASHIWAYA SENSEI. Kashiwaya Kōichi Sensei is the Chief Instructor of Ki-Aikidō USA and of Midland Ki Federation, holding a Hachidan in Aikidō and an Okuden in Shin Shin Toitsu Do.

Wednesday January 13th, 6:30 AM: Kangeiko Morning Demo Class, Henry Crown Multipurpose Room. The University of Chicago Shin Shin Toitsu Aikidō Club (Genkikai) will be hosting an early morning Ki and Aikidō class for the annual Kangeiko-Kuviasungnerk festival of the U of Chicago, immediately after the warm-ups on the 2nd Floor of Henry Crown. All welcome to participate. Contact instructor or officers for further details.

Sunday January 24th, 10:30 AM: Kagami Biraki 2010: Our annual Dojo New Year Festival... training, testing, food, film festival, and more! All welcome.

Sunday January 31st, 10:30 AM: Special Class With Jonathan Eley Sensei, Chief Instructor of Chicago Ki Society: Eley Sensei is the most senior Aikidōka in the Midwest, with 50 years of training. Rokudan Aikidō, Chuden Shin Shin Toitsu Do. A 2.5-hour class open to all participants, all levels. $20 suggested donation.

Friday February 5th-Sunday February 7th: Midland Ki Federation Instructors' Camp in St. Louis, Missouri.

Sunday, February 8th: Special Class with Jonathan Eley Sensei, Chief Instructor of Chicago Ki Society, 6th Dan Aikidō, 50 years of Aikidō experience. Henry Crown Martial Arts Room, 56th and University Avenue, 10:30 AM-12:30 PM, followed by lunch with Eley Sensei.

January 30th-February 1st: Midland Ki Federation Instructors' Intensive with Chief Instructor Kashiwaya Kōichi Sensei in Kansas City, KS, at Midland Ki Society dojo.

Sunday, January 11th: Kagami Biraki at the Genkikai Dojo. Special training, demonstration, testing, feasting, samurai film mini-festival, and more... Breathing by the Lake: 9:00 AM, Training at dojo: 10:30 AM.

Wednesday, January 14th: Genkikai's early morning demonstration class. Henry Crown 6:30-8:00 AM, for Kangeiko-Kuviasungnerk Week at the University of Chicago. Open to all U of C persons. Some of our most illustrious Club alumni joined during Kangeiko... so come join us! Calisthenics at 6:30 AM upstairs, Ki-Aikidō Demo class 7:00 AM Martial Arts Room.

October 31st, November 1st, November 2nd, 2008: FALL SHIN SHIN TOITSU Aikidō SEMINAR WITH KASHIWAYA Kōichi SENSEI, 8th Dan, Okuden, Chief Instructor of Midland Ki Federation, Head of Ki-Aikidō USA, at the University of Chicago, Genkikai dojo. THIS WAS THE TENTH KASHIWAYA SENSEI SEMINAR AT GENKIKAI DOJO.

August 1st-3rd, 2008: Midland Ki Federation Instructor Training Camp in Seattle, WA, with Kashiwaya Kōichi Sensei, Chief Instructor of Midland Ki Federation and Head of Ki-Aikidō USA.

August 29th-31st, 2008: Midland Ki Federation jo/bokken/weapons camp with Kashiwaya Kōichi Sensei, Chief Instructor of Midland Ki Federation and Head of Ki-Aikidō USA, hosted by Rocky Mountain Ki Society in the Rockies near Fort Collins, CO.

April 25th-27, 2008: Weekend Spring Seminar with Kashiwaya Kōichi Sensei, Chief Instructor of Midland Ki Federation and Head of Ki-Aikidō USA. Hosted by the Genkikai Shin Shin To Itsu Aikidō Club at the University of Chicago.

Sunday, January 13th 2008:10:30-12:30 AM: Kagami Biraki with kyu testing for Genkikai members, Henry Crown Martial Arts Room.

October 5th, 2006: SELF-DEFENSE & SAFETY WORKSHOP, 6:30-8:30 PM, Henry Crown Field House Multipurpose Room. Two-hour workshop open to University of Chicago students, faculty, staff and spouses.

First Week of Classes: Classes during the first week of Fall '06 were free open demo classes. Our regular five-class a week schedule picked up 2nd week.

September 29th: University of Chicago Sports Club and RSO Fall Activities Fair... betwen 57th & 58th on University... 3PM-6PM...with demonstrations by Genkikai Ki-Aikidō Club.

August 11-13, 2006: Jo/Bokken Camp 2006 with Kōichi Kashiwaya Sensei in the Rocky Mountains at Jacks Gulch Campground (up Poudre Canyon, northwest of Fort Collins, CO) Friday to Sunday, August 11 to 13, 2006. April 11-13, 2006: GENKIKAI Spring Seminar with Kashiwaya Sensei. Kashiwaya Sensei (8th Dan - Shin Shin Toitsu Aikidō and Okuden - Ki Development) is the Head of Ki-Aikidō USA and is the Chief Instructor of Midland Ki Federation. He visits Genkikai twice a year to teach intensive seminars.

2005
